Rumba

Rumba Dance

The Rumba originates back to Cuba in the late 19th century. It refers to a style of Ballroom dancing included in DanceSport categories of competition.
The Rumba is one of the Ballroom dances that occur in international competitions. It is the slowest of the five competitive International Latin dances.
The Rumba spotlights the lady’s rhythmic body movements and hip actions resulting in intense, almost steamy, scenes of passion. This dance of love is one of the most popular Latin dances; it is a slow, serious, and romantic dance with flirtation between the partners. Simple and versatile for the beginner while offering a fun challenge to the competitor, it is no wonder Rumba, with it’s seductive rhythm, is one of the most popular dances we teach.
